Film
make-up is performed using a layout table. The layout indicates clearly
the position of text, illustrations, etc.,and contains all cutting
guide marks, folding marks and any other information necessary to
ensure correct make-up in film.
Conventional
metal litho plates are made by exposing the litho film which is held
by vacuum contact with a light sensitive plate. This operation is performed
in a print-down frame using ultra - violet radiation.
The
ready imaged printing plate.
The
printing plate is mounted on the plate cylinder in the Off-set
Press.
The
plate is inked up and the image is then transferred to the rubber
blanket cylinder and then to the paper. This all happens at
very high rotation speeds.
